“Palesa Ntataise Inclusion ECD Projects for Fathers” on Mandela Day
For Mandela Day this year, Ntataise proudly hosted the “Palesa Ntataise Inclusion ECD Projects for Fathers” event in Rammulotsi. Parents from 19 centres in Rammulotsi and two farms were invited, with each school nominating five parents of children aged birth to six years. Special guests included elderly grandfathers, the Hope Ministries Fraternal Committee, and 30 children from Boiteko & Kutluoano centres (ages 4-6).
In celebration of Madiba and under the theme “Men Are Parents Too,” attendees donned formal attire, bringing ties and smartphones to log into the CLTP Online Programme. The event emphasized the critical role of play in early learning and the important role of fathers.
Participants engaged in various play stations, including watching Ntataise video clips, playing Snake and Ladder for fun and learning, enjoying the Morabaraba Indigenous game for early numeracy and literacy, and coordinating hand and feet activities for physical fitness. Fathers also read storybooks and shared traditional stories, promoting language development and bedtime bonding practices.
Creative art activities showcased children’s artwork, which fathers learned to communicate about effectively at home, supporting the smooth transition from preschool to home. The event concluded with children handing out books they made as gifts to their parents, fastening ties on their fathers, and enjoying refreshments together.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and made this day memorable!
